The largest photovoltaic project in the Middle East, the 2.6 GW photovoltaic power station in Al-Shuba, Saudi Arabia, is fully connected to the grid and put into operation under the general contract of China National Energy Construction International Group, Guangdong Thermal Power and Northwest Institute.

 The project is located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia's Mecca province, with a total installed capacity of 2.6 GW, consisting of ASB-1600 MW ASB2-2000 MW, and is an important part of Saudi Arabia's "Vision 2030" new energy plan. The project covers an area of 52.54 square kilometers and uses the world's most advanced N-type double-sided photovoltaic modules and single-axis automatic tracking brackets. 

After completion, the project is expected to generate 282.2 billion KWH of electricity in 35 years and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 245 million tons, which is equivalent to planting 545 million trees in the Saudi desert. It will become an important milestone for Chinese and Saudi enterprises to promote Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, and another important achievement of the deep connection between the Belt and Road Initiative and the national development strategy of Saudi Arabia.
